After a short but productive stint at Peach Digital (7 months), I have just recently taken on the role of Senior Web Developer at D8 Digital (May 2010) based in Glasgow Scotland. D8 Digital have a wide range of fantastic clients and I am looking forward to working on new and challenging projects.
I was the Senior Developer at Guy Robertson Partnership for almost 4 years. GRP is a full service agency based in Glasgow Scotland specialising in Advertising, Design, Digital, Marketing and Media. I was involved in all aspects of the development process for the websites and applications they develop for their clients.
Before joining GRP I worked for Logical Innovations and was heavily involved in the development of their cutting edge recruitment software solution TalentTracker® eRecruiter.
After leaving Glasgow University after gaining an MSc Information Technology (Software and Systems) in 2000 I joined a small Technology company (e-Freight Logistics) where I was a developer working on logistics management software for the haulage industry with their main client being Tesco.
Before I got into IT I didn’t really have a clue what I wanted to do. I loved science at school so I decided to go to Glasgow University to study Cell Biology and Genetics. The great thing about Glasgow University was that once you were in the Science Faculty you could pretty much change your specialism at any point. After 3rd Year I decided to focus on Physiology and finally graduated in 1998 with a degree in Sports Medicine.
I met a lot of people in the IT industry after graduating and thats why I finally decided to get into a career in IT.
No regrets. If your committed there is no chance you could ever get bored in this industry!!!
